HG Seed #19 ZGMF-X24S Chaos Gundam

Original price was: $19.99.Current price is: $16.99.

The Chaos Gundam is one of ZAFT’s Second Stage Series Mobile Suits developed after the Bloody Valentine War. The Chaos Gundam is a transformable Mobile Suit specialized for high-speed space combat. The unit’s gigantic thrusters allow the Chaos Gundam to fly in-atmosphere at almost no cost to performance. Additionally, the unit’s Mobile Armor Mode granted even more mobility without compromising the Chaos Gundam’s weapon usage. The Phantom Pain, an organization within the Earth Alliance, stole the Chaos Gundam alongside the Gaia Gundam and Abyss Gundam from ZAFT after being completed. The Chaos Gundam fought against ZAFT and various other factions before its destruction in an engagement with the Archangel Assault Ship and its Mobile Suit forces.

Here’s what Bandai included alongside this classic HG Chaos Gundam for accessories:

  • MA-BAR721 High-Energy Beam Rifle
  • MMI-RG30 Cruising Mobile Shield

Articulation
 –

Bandai first released this HG Chaos Gundam model kit way back in 2004, so be sure to check out this blast-from-the-past build if you’re looking for a satisfying, nostalgic model kit. Thanks to the simplistic design of the Chaos Gundam, only 141 pieces are needed to create this fully articulated model! Bandai managed to give this rendition of the Chaos Gundam an almost complete transformation (you will need to remove the head to transform into Mobile Armor Mode properly). While in Mobile Armor Mode, the Chaos Gundam’s claws feature multiple articulation points for some awesome grappling action!

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

The Chaos Gundam’s primary armament is a pair of EQFU-5X Mobile Weapon Pods docked on the unit’s backpack. These weapons both feature a Beam Assault Cannon and twelve Firefly Guided Missiles. The Chaos Gundam can use these armaments while still attached to the Mobile Suit but are most effective when separated and used wirelessly thanks to the advanced DRAGOON System built into the Mobile Suit. Deploy the Beam Assault Cannon by pushing in the thruster bell at the back of the Weapon Pod. The transformation into Mobile Armor Mode does not compromise the Chaos Gundam’s manipulators, giving the Gundam access to its Beam Rifle and Shield in both modes!

This kit includes:

5 Runners total (A, B, C, D, PC123+)
Total Piece Count – 141 with 4 Unused Parts

HG Seed #19 ZGMF-X24S Chaos Gundam

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HG Seed #19 Chaos Gundam with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
