The GN-001REII Gundam Exia Repair II is a modified version of the GN-001 Gundam Exia constructed by Celestial Being as a backup unit for Gundam Meister Setsuna F. Seiei. The GN-001REII Gundam Exia Repair II benefits from improved defense, as the previous version’s exposed GN Cables now hide inside the Mobile Suit’s armor. During the final battle with the Innovators, The GN-0000+GNR-010 00 Raiser received extensive damage while facing off against the CB-0000G/C Reborns Gundam, forcing Celestial Being to use its only functioning GN Drive to reactivate the GN-001REII Gundam Exia Repair II so Setsuna F. Seiei could continue fighting.

Articulation –

The HG Gundam Exia Repair II shares most of its construction with the previously released HG00 #01 GN-001 Gundam Exia, showcasing the in-universe lineage that connects these two Mobile Suits. This model features double-jointed knees and swiveling thighs, providing a wide range of motion to create dynamic poses. Bandai provided a thorough sheet of color-correcting stickers to help builders recreate the HG Gundam Exia Repair II’s on-screen appearance right out of the box!

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

The HG Gundam Exia Repair II utilizes the GN Sword Kai, an updated version of the Gundam Exia’s GN Sword. Like its predecessor, this weapon functions as a high-powered melee weapon or a Beam Rifle after a simple mode change. The HG Gundam Exia Repair II also includes the GN Short Blade and GN Long Blade, despite never appearing during the HG Gundam Exia Repair II’s first and final mission. Builders can attach the GN Shield to the Mobile Suit’s forearm for additional defense.

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HG00 #44 GN-001REII Gundam Exia Repair II with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking Decals. Top Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
