The 侍ノ弐 Sengoku Astray Gundam is a custom Build Fighter assembled by Nils Nielsen, later known as Nils Yajima. Representing the United States in the 7th Gunpla World Tournament, Nils is a brilliant young Gunpla Builder with a love for Japanese culture. This love for all things Japan inspired the creation of the 侍ノ弐 Sengoku Astray Gundam, which draws significant influence from traditional Japanese samurai armor. Amongst everyone participating in the Gunpla World Tournament, Nils had the furthest understanding of Plavsky Particles and their abilities, using his knowledge to develop the 侍ノ弐 Sengoku Astray Gundam further.

Articulation –

The HG Sengoku Astray Gundam borrows most of its construction from the previously released HG SEED #58 MBF-P02 Gundam Astray Red Frame Flight Unit: the same model kit Nils may have used in-universe to build his custom Build Fighter! This model features double-jointed limbs and swiveling thighs, providing a wide range of motion to create dynamic poses. This model includes a thorough sheet of color-correcting stickers to help builders recreate the HG Sengoku Astray Gundam’s on-screen appearance right out of the box!

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

The HG Sengoku Astray Gundam utilizes a pair of Samurai Swords as its primary weapons, known as the Kiku-ichimonji and Kotetsu. The HG Sengoku Astray Gundam can wield these weapons using its standard manipulators or the Sengoku Yoroi sub-arms attached to both of the Mobile Suit’s shoulders. Builders can store this equipment on top of the Mobile Suit’s shoulder armor. The Oni No Tate shield attached to the HG Sengoku Astray Gundam’s back features a built-in handle for manipulator use.

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HGBF #07 Sengoku Astray Gundam with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too!

It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking Decals. Top Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides.

This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
