HGUC #098 FA-78-3 Full Armor Gundam 7th

Original price was: $20.99.Current price is: $17.84.

The FA-78-3 Full Armor Gundam 7th is the armor-clad version of the RX-78-7 Gundam 7th from Kunio Okawara’s M-MSV collection. Hajime Katoki redesigned the Gundam 7th for the 2009 release of the Mobile Suit Gundam: Battlefield Record UC 0081 videogame. Bandai based the HGUC FA-78-3 Full Armor Gundam 7th on the Gundams appearance in the videogame, adding Katokis subtle updates to the color scheme and proportions. Unlike the original FA-78-1 Full Armor Gundam, the FA-78-3 Full Armor Gundam 7th does not suffer any performance losses due to the additional armor.

Included alongside the FA-78-3 Full Armor Gundam 7th for accessories:

  • XBR-H80-L1 Beam Rifle
  • Beam Saber Hilt x2
  • Long-Range Beam Cannon
  • Shield

Articulation –

Bandai designed the FA-78-3 Full Armor Gundam 7th from the ground up, providing a new and refreshing build experience. The FA-78-3 Full Armor Gundam 7th takes advantage of very clever points of articulation. Including double-jointed limbs, thigh+hip swivel, and tons of ball joints to provide the completed model with a dynamic look. The Long-Range Beam Cannon attaches to the backpack via a ball joint, providing the weapon with enough articulation for a convincing firing pose. The enormous booster attached to the FA-78-3 Full Armor Gundam 7ths back skirt armor is easily removed and features two sets of articulated thrusters.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

The XBR-H80-L1 Beam Rifle is unique to the FA-78-3 Full Armor Gundam 7th, featuring an articulated handle with a separately molded yellow sensor for the camera! The same goes for the sensor on the Long-Range Beam Cannon! The FA-78-3 Full Armor Gundam 7th also includes a fortified variant of the RX-78s Shield, which will mount to the side or back of the forearm. Unfortunately, the FA-78-3 Full Armor Gundam 7th does not include any Beam Effects to pair with its two hilts. The FA-78-3 Full Armor Gundam 7th will, however, directly support the use of an Action base thanks to the addition of a 3mm hole on the Gundam’s underside.

HGUC #098 FA-78-3 Full Armor Gundam 7th

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HGUC #098 FA-78-3 Full Armor Gundam 7th with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
