The MS-07B-3 Gouf Custom was made famous by its appearance in the Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team anime series. Before the release of this HGUC version, it had been almost 15 years since the MS-07B-3 Gouf Custom first came to the High Grade line. This new version is a top-down redesign, so you can expect a new and exciting building experience this time around.

To keep the MS-07B-3 Gouf Custom protected, Bandai has included:

  • Heat Wire


Articulation –

The HGUC MS-07B-3 Gouf Custom hosts a load of sweet articulation gimmicks, including a mono-eye swivel, thigh swivel, and hip rotation! These are welcome improvements compared to the Zeon Mobile Suit kits of the past. There is a ball joint to connect the wait and the torso, but the heat piping on the torso will inhibit some tilting back and forth.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

The MS-07B-3 Gouf Custom comes loaded with a ton of awesome weapons. The 3 Barrel Machine Gun is now a separate piece of equipment rather than built into the manipulator. This change allows for a wider range of customization than the standard MS-07B Gouf. The best aspect of this kit for many is the Gatling Shield. When the Gatling Gun component is attached to the Gouf’s shield, it plugs into the 3 Barrel Machine Gun for the Mobile Suit to operate the weapon. The Heat Sword can also be stored on the Gatling Shield when not deployed.

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HGUC #117 MS-07B-3 Gouf Custom with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking Decals. Top Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
