The RGM-86R GM III is the Earth Federation’s most significant upgrade to the GM Mobile Suit program. The Federation used technology from the RX-178 Gundam Mk-II Titans to develop the RGM-86R GM III, allowing some units to outperform the Gundam Mk-II. This added performance made the RGM-86R GM III a staple of Federation forces for almost a decade! The RGM-86R GM III joined the HGUC lineup a decade ago and, like its in-universe counterpart, has been a staple in the HGUC line since its inception.

Articulation –

The RGM-86R GM III also includes a wide assortment of manipulators for creating different poses. Thanks to its intelligent design, the RGM-86R GM III should have no problem pulling off some satisfying action poses without looking too clunky. The top thrusters on the backpack are ball-jointed for better flying poses or to display the RGM-86R GM III reaching for one of its Beam Sabers.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

Removing the Missile Pods on the shoulder and skirt armor is easy if you prefer a more traditional look for the RGM-86R GM III. Both weapons feature removable hatches for displaying the model as though it’s about to fire off its payload! The Shield will attach to either forearm and rotates around its connection point for even more posing options! Customize your RGM-86R GM III even further by using the included marking stickers!

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HGUC #126 RGM-86R GM III with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking Decals. Top Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
