The RGM-96X Jesta is a development of the RGM-89 Jegan by Anaheim Electronics to serve as the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam‘s escort while in Unicorn Mode. The Jestas also sought to fend off standard Mobile Suits so the Unicorn could face off against more powerful Newtype targets, a tactic seen since the inception of Newtype-Use Mobile Suits. The RGM-96X features vastly improved thrust capabilities, enabling the Mobile Suit to escort the speedy Unicorn Gundam. Only a dozen RGM-96X Jesta units would see production, with at least one of them becoming the RGM-96X Jesta Cannon.

Articulation – 

The HG Jesta features an entirely new construction supported by an array of polycaps, as is the first rendition of this Mobile Suit in the High Grade Universal Century line! This model features double-jointed knees and swiveling thighs, providing a wide range of motion to create dynamic poses. The HG Jesta does not require color-correcting stickers, providing the proper coloration with part separation alone. This model includes a small sheet of marking stickers to help builders recreate the HG Jesta’s on-screen appearance right out of the box!

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

The HG Jesta includes a custom Beam Rifle designed for its unique combat role. This weapon features static Like its predecessor, the Jegan, the HG Jesta sorties with a single Beam Saber for close-quarters combat. The Beam Saber will slot into the left forearm when not in use. The HG Jesta includes two sub-arms for attaching the Shoulder Shield in different configurations. Builders can swap the HG Jesta’s backpack for the backpacks included with the HGUC #104 RGM-895 Stark Jegan and HGUC #123 RGM-89De Jegan ECOAS Type.

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HGUC #130 RGM-96X Jesta with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking Decals. Top Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
