RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee is the second RX-0 series Mobile Suit to appear in the Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn animated series. The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee is almost identical to the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam technology-wise but sports a brilliant Blue and Gold color scheme. This HGUC model kit builds into the debut version of the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee in Destroy Mode and features the original loadout for the Mobile Suit.

Articulation –

Although it may not feel like it, this model kit was released almost ten years ago! However, this should not be considered an old-school kit. This Unicorn features a hip-joint swivel and a rod-jointed shoulder, allowing for more dynamic posing options once completed. The lack of excess equipment means the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee means it should be more articulate and poseable than other, more eccentric versions of the HGUC Unicorn model kits.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

The Armed Armor BS attaches to the right forearm of the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee. This weapon contains a long-range Beam Smart Gun controlled via Psycho-Frame by the Banshee’s pilot. The Armed Armor VN uses large Vibrating Claws to latch onto and crush enemy Mobile Suits. Parts to build the standard Beam Magnum are on the runners but not outlined in the instruction manual. Unfortunately, there are no effect parts to use with the included Beam Saber Handles

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HGUC #134 RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee (Destroy Mode) with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking Decals. Top Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
