HGUC #187 XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam X1

(1 customer review)

Original price was: $23.99.Current price is: $20.39.

The XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam X1 fittingly belongs to the self-proclaimed “pirates” called the Crossbone Vanguard, and what a perfect match it is! This bite-sized Mobile Suit comes from the same development program as the F91 Gundam F91 but received a new model number to hide the origins of this unique Mobile Suit. The Crossbone Vanguard used the XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam X1 to lead their Mobile Suit forces against the Jupiter Empire. The XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam X1 received enhancements to withstand the immense gravitational forces surrounding Jupiter.

Included alongside the XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam X1:

  • Buster Gun
  • Beam Zanber
  • Beam Shield
  • Brand Marker Effect x2
  • Heat Dagger x2
  • Heat Dagger Blade x2
  • Core Fighter Body
  • Beam Saber x2

Articulation
 –

Bandai managed to squeeze tons of excellent articulation points into this tiny frame! The XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam X1 features double-jointed limbs, providing the completed model with a stellar range of motion. All four thrusters articulate on a ball joint, allowing builders to create dynamic flying poses with ease! Unlike its Real Grade counterpart, the HGUC XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam X1 does not feature a docking Corefighter gimmick. Instead, the thrusters on the back of the Mobile Suit attach to the Gundam like a backpack. The XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam X1 shares its backpack attachment point with a vast array of High Grade models, so customizing is super easy!

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

The XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam X1 has a wide assortment of weaponry at its disposal. The Buster Gun borrows its likeness from an 18th Century Flintlock Pistol and is the only significant ranged weapon used by the XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam X1. The Beam Zanber is the primary weapon of the Crossbone and gets its design from pirate cutlasses of yesteryear. The Zanber is incredibly powerful for a close-quarters weapon, even capable of slicing through standard Beam Saber Blades! These two weapons combine to form the Zanbuster, a more powerful version of the Buster Gun. Like many other late-UC Mobile Suits, the XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam X1 uses Beam Shield emitters located in its forearms to protect against projectiles and beam weaponry. The XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam X1 could also emit small Beam Blades from its forearms called Brand Markers.

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HGUC #187 XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam X1 with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.

I love the design and how easy building the kit was. Only main complaint is how small it is. I do wish it was bigger than this kit.
