The RX-9/A Narrative Gundam A-Packs is the first Equipment Pack seen in the Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative animated movie. This equipment pack gave the Narrative Gundam the additional firepower and thrust needed to keep up with its target, the Gundam Unicorn 03 Phenex. The massive A-Pack is the largest equipment loadout constructed for the Narrative Gundam. Using new tech, it was capable of capturing enemy Mobile Suits via the Psycho-Capture System.

Articulation –

Without the A-Pack equipment, the Narrative Gundam is a great model kit by itself! The lack of Thigh and upper arm armor give the RX-9/A Narrative Gundam A-Packs a great range of motion. The instructions to build the Gundam are nice and clear, allowing for a quicker build. The time saved building the Gundam can be spent giving extra care to the massive A-Packs, which uses most of the plastic in the box.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

The RX-9/A Narrative Gundam A-Packs has loads of sweet gimmicks for fans to enjoy. The External Boosters are removable so builders can display the ejected booster after depletion. Each of the manipulators for the Psycho Capture system articulate in two places, allowing for the recreation of both deployed and standby modes. The doors for the missile bays are removable to show off the molded details underneath. Bandai provides detailed instructions to show off the Psycho Capture System’s gimmicks, including the option parts for recreating the capture attack used against the Phenex.

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HGUC #218 RX-9/A Narrative Gundam A-Packs with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking Decals. Top Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
