HGUC #50 G-Armor (G-Fighter + RX-78-2 Gundam)

This HGUC G-Armor combination set includes the original HGUC #21 RX-78-2 Gundam and the newly molded model of the G-Fighter. These two units are like peanut butter and jelly, meaning no matter what configuration the two are in, it’ll probably be pretty tasty! The Earth Federation built the G-Fighter to increase the RX-78-2’s mobility by utilizing the Core Block System. The G-Fighter also functions independently from the Gundam to provide air support. There are plenty of unique uses of this Support Unit, including the all-encompassing G-Armor. The G-Armor was the most common configuration of the RX-78-2 and G-Fighter because of its ability to deploy the Gundam rapidly and continue fighting as the G-Fighter.

Articulation –

The RX-78-2 Gundam builds like many other HGUC models from this time, especially other Gundams or GMs. It has a quick and basic set of instructions that, along with a couple of stickers, will make you a sweet rendition of the RX-78-2 Gundam, just like in Mobile Suit Gundam.

The two cannons attached to the G-Fighter’s cockpit can articulate up-and-down independently. The cannons will also rotate together around their attachment point. Most of the G-Fighter’s articulation allows for the combination with the RX-78-2 to assemble the various configurations of this equipment.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

Bandai included all of the RX-78-2’s standard equipment with the G-Armor model kit. There are two Shields for attaching to the sides of the G-Armor and its various configurations. The set also includes a non-transformable version of the Core Fighter (with optional landing gear!) for displaying alongside the G-Armor. There are also two configurations of the G-Fighter that combine with the Core Fighter. The included stand is adjustable to accommodate the various forms of the G-Fighter. The G-Fighter will most likely be incompatible with any other HGUC model kits out of the box, but anything is possible with the right tools in this hobby!
