HGUC #6 MSM-07 Z’Gok

The MSM-07 Z’Gok is one of The Principality of Zeon’s most well-known amphibious Mobile Suits from the One Year War. The mass production version of the MSM-07 Z’Gok utilized data gathered by the Msn-03 Gogg and the MSM-04 Acguy in its development, allowing Zeon to learn from their previous mistakes and create a well-rounded Mobile Suit. The MSM-07 Z’Gok was made just as capable on land as below the sea, adding chemical rockets to increase the Mobile Suit’s mobility on the surface. During the Assault of Jaburo Base during the One Year War, Zeon used a swarm of MSM-07 Z’Gok’s and other amphibious Mobile Suits to infiltrate the facility. Char Aznable led this attack in his own MSM-07S Z’Gok, which is identical to this HGUC rendition of the MSM-07 Z’Gok except for Char’s red color scheme.

Articulation –

Building the MSM-07 Z’Gok will feel very different than most Gundam Model Kits. Zeon’s Amphibious MS all share a unique design language that allows for increased maneuverability while submerged. The midsection of the MSM-07 Z’Gok features two ball joints, allowing the Mobile Suit a small range of motion in any direction. Each segment of the arms and legs articulates separately by using a ball joint for each attachment point, giving the MSM-07 Z’Gok a more realistic feel, especially when striking a pose!

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

The MSM-07 Z’Gok head contains six 240mm missile launchers. These are not torpedos and are unlikely to hit their mark if fired underwater. These missiles launch vertically so the Z’Gok can surface and fire its payload without the risk of exposing itself. For close combat, the MSM-07 Z’Gok uses its Iron Nails. These are devastating weapons, which most famously destroyed an RGM-79 GM with one fatal blow to the torso. Hiding between the individually articulated Iron Nails are two Mega Particle Cannons with almost double the power output of the Beam Rifle used by the RX-78-2 Gundam.
