The RX-93-ν2 HI-NU GUNDAM originally comes from the Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack – Beltorchicka’s Children novelization. Despite popular belief, the RX-93-ν2 HI-NU GUNDAM is an alternate version of the RX-93 Nu Gundam ν and not an upgraded version of the original MS. Comparing the two will show that the RX-93-ν2 HI-NU GUNDAM is, in fact, the better machine. This HGUC rendition of the RX-93-ν2 HI-NU GUNDAM uses the 2007 redesign of the Mobile Suit, which slimmed down the proportions and gave the Gundam a brilliant royal blue color scheme.

Articulation –

The RX-93-ν2 HI-NU GUNDAM builds into a solid and sturdy model kit to support its backpack and fin funnels while standing on its own. Each of the funnel racks features multiple points of articulation to provide a dynamic look while zooming through the skies! The external propellant tanks attach to the back of the RX-93-ν2 HI-NU GUNDAM via a ball joint, making posing that much easier. To display them jettisoned from the Mobile Suit, pop them right out! To vastly improve the posability of your RX-93-ν2 HI-NU GUNDAM, plug it into any 3mm peg-based Action Base!

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

Both the Beam Rifle and Bazooka will need a healthy coat of white paint to achieve any color accuracy but still look great in their original plastic color! Unfortunately, only two of the six fin funnels are fully articulate. The others come in pairs with a single attachment point. The RX-93-ν2 HI-NU GUNDAM includes two Beam Effects to create a double-bladed Beam Saber. These blades come molded in a sweet-looking transparent blue plastic. The unique camouflage on the RX-93-ν2 HI-NU GUNDAM’s Shield is thankfully recreated using parts separation instead of gigantic foil stickers.

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HGUC #95 RX-93 ν2 HI-NU GUNDAM Chars Counterattack with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking Decals. Top Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
