HGUC #97 RGM-89 Jegan

Original price was: $19.99.Current price is: $16.99.

The RGM-89 Jegan follows a long lineage of Mass Produced Federation Mobile Suits. Anaheim Electronics is responsible for the construction and development of the RGM-89 Jegan. Unlike Jegan’s Federation-built GM predecessors. The RGM-89 Jegan combines everything the Federation and Anaheim Electronics had learned in 20 years of Mobile Suit production to create a new standard for mass-produced MS. This HGUC rendition of the RGM-89 Jegan is the first of many sweet variations of the Jegan made by Bandai, so be sure to check them all out!

Here’s what Bandai included alongside the RGM-89 Jegan:

  • Beam Rifle
  • Beam Saber
  • Shield

Articulation
 –

Bandai designed the HGUC RGM-89 Jegan from the ground up! However, the build should feel similar to other Federation High Grade model kits. Bandai engineered the RGM-89 Jegan using a minimal piece count, making the model very accessible to new builders and perfect for building multiple copies! Since the RGM-89 Jegan does not feature any front or back skirt armor, posing the legs is super easy and intuitive.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

The RGM-89 Jegan uses a Beam Rifle as its primary weapon. This weapon features a shortened barrel for increased handling. Reducing the output of this weapon allowed the RGM-89 Jegan to increase its fire rate significantly. The RGM-89 Jegan’s shield contains four missiles molded in color for an extra level of detail. The Beam Saber hides inside the right skirt armor and includes two blade effects of varying lengths for further customization. Opposite that is a set of three hand grenades underneath an articulated cover. The grenades come as one piece, so, unfortunately, the RGM-89 Jegan model kit cannot use these weapons properly.

 This kit includes:

6 Runners total (A, B, C, D, SB5, PC132A)
Total Piece Count – 132 with 3 Unused Parts
Marking Stickers
Materials – PS, PE, ABS

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HGUC #97 RGM-89 Jegan with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
