Imaginary Skeleton Tyrannosaurus Rex 1/32

Original price was: $44.99.Current price is: $22.49.

After millions of years lying dormant underground, Bandai has finally uncovered the Imaginary Skeleton Tyrannosaurus Rex! Turn any room into a museum with this highly detailed 1/32 recreation of Earth’s greatest predator. The Imaginary Skeleton Tyrannosaurus Rex comes in a fixed leaping pose, mounted to a clear stand to help portray the beast as it leaps and strikes down its prey. This pose may seem strange, but it serves as an homage to the late-nineteenth-century painting Leaping Laeplaps created by the famed paleontologist Charles R. Knight, depicting what appears to be a pair of two Dryptosaurus engaged in battle.

The Tyrannosaurus is estimated to host over 360 individual bones, all of which Bandai recreated in excruciating detail using only 68 Pieces! There are currently no complete Tyrannosaurus skeletons in any collection across the globe, making the Imaginary Skeleton Tyrannosaurus Rex a unique representation of a completed Tyrannosaurus skeleton. The designers began by comparing incomplete Tyrannosaurus specimens with discoveries both past and present, utilizing the latest 3D imaging and printing technology to bring the creature back to life. Thanks to its careful engineering, the Imaginary Skeleton Tyrannosaurus Rex provides a much more accurate and fun-to-assemble model kit than your average museum gift shop T. Rex model!

Description

Instead of a traditional color guide, Bandai decided to include instructions for detailing their Imaginary Skeleton Tyrannosaurus Rex with their Mr. Weathering Liner product line. These instructions for applying the crayon-like weathering sticks recommend shading and highlighting the individual bones for a lifelike appearance. To complete the model using the color guide, you’ll need:

Mr. Hobby Weathering Liner Rust Color Set A for PL03 Soot Black

Mr. Hobby Weathering Liner Rust Color Set B for PL04 Sand Brown and PL06 Deep Brown

Mr. Hobby Weathering Liner Snow Color Set for PL07 White and PL08 Light Gray

The manual also recommends soaking the Weathering Liners in Aqueous Hobby Color Thinner, likely to increase the streaking power of the liners, increasing the efficiency of the weathering process.

The final recommended step is to apply a glossy topcoat to the bones, giving them the same sheen you’d find in the real-life displays at any museum.
