MG Duel Gundam Assault Shroud Z.A.F.T. Mobile Suit GAT-X102

$51.99

The Duel Gundam Assault Shroud is the original testbed for the Earth Alliance’s G Project, which sought the creation of experimental prototype Mobile Suits to turn the tide in their conflict with ZAFT. The Duel Gundam is one of four stolen G Project Machines operated by ZAFT during the Bloody Valentine Wars, hoping to deliver a massive blow to their already limited Mobile Suit forces. ZAFT created an array of removable armor panels fitted with additional weaponry known as the Assault Shroud, providing the Duel Gundam testbed with sufficient combat equipment. This equipment significantly improved the Mobile Suit’s combat performance, allowing it to deploy alongside the other, more combat-specific Gundam units.

Included alongside the MG MG Duel Gundam Assault Shroud for accessories:

  • 57mm High Energy Beam Rifle
  • 350mm “Gáe Bulg” Rail Bazooka
  • Shield
  • Beam Saber x2
  • 1/100 Yzak Joule Figure
  • Action Base Adapter

The MG Duel Gundam Assault Shroud was the first of the G Project Mobile Suits to receive a Master Grade release, providing a brand-new internal construction that Bandai could reuse to create the remaining G Project Mobile Suits. The MG Duel Gundam Assault Shroud features a complete inner frame supported by an array of polycaps. The model also features double-jointed limbs and swiveling thighs, providing a wide range of motion to create dynamic poses. The Mobile Suit’s most notable feature is its removable Assault Shroud, which builders can easily fit onto the Mobile Suit for a bulky, fully armored look.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

The Duel Gundam Assault Shroud’s Beam Rifle features an under-barrel launcher capable of loading a single 175mm Grenade. The 115mm Railgun attached to the Assault Shroud’s right shoulder can also function as a handheld weapon thanks to a cleverly placed handle. The Duel Gundam Assault Shroud is compatible with Master Grade Striker Packs, thanks to its shared construction with the MG Aile Strike Gundam. The Earth Alliance created the 350mm “Gáe Bulg” Rail Bazooka for use alongside the Duel Gundam, left behind by ZAFT after stealing the Gundams and later used by the Gundam Astray Gold Frame.

Description

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the Duel Gundam Assault Shroud with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. Making your own panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
