MG RGM-79SP GM Sniper II

$46.99

The RGM-79SP GM Sniper II was one of the last variants of the GM constructed during the One Year War. The RGM-79SP GM Sniper II borrows most of its design from the RGM-79G GM Command, including arguably the best-looking variation of the GM Head. The RGM-79SP GM Sniper II was the most dominant variant of the GM built during the One Year War, but the high production costs led to limited production. The RGM-79SP GM Sniper II could utilize projectile and beam weapons thanks to an upgraded generator. On paper, the RGM-79SP GM Sniper II was more powerful than the RX-78-2 Gundam!

Included alongside the MG GM Sniper II for accessories:

  • 75mm Sniper Rifle
  • 90mm GM Rifle
  • Shield
  • Beam Saber x2
  • Action Base Adapter

Articulation –

The MG GM Sniper II borrows most of its internal construction from the MG RX-78-2 Gundam Ver. 2.0, providing a complete inner frame loaded with mechanical detail. The model utilizes double-jointed limbs and swiveling thighs, providing a wide range of motion to create dynamic poses. The MG GM Sniper II’s lack of a Core Block System allowed Bandai to add even more points of articulation to the Mobile Suit’s torso, making it much easier to create realistic sniping poses. Use the included action base adapter to showcase your MG GM Sniper II and the full extent of its posability atop your choice of Action Base.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

This Master Grade rendition of the RGM-79SP GM Sniper II features the Franz EF-KAR98k 75mm Sniper Rifle, named after the Karabiner 98k German service rifle used during WWII. The 75mm Sniper Rifle fires projectile rounds unaffected by magnetic forces and solar winds, giving a targeting advantage over similar Beam-powered weapons. The rifle’s bolt-action mechanism made it terrible at engaging enemy Mobile Suits, so the MG GM Sniper II also includes a 90mm GM Rifle to defend against enemy attacks. In close-quarters engagements, the RGM-79SP GM Sniper II uses a pair of Beam Sabers stored on the back skirt armor.

Description

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the RGM-79SP GM Sniper II with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. Making your own panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
