MG RX-78-2 Gundam Ver. 2.0

The RX-78-2 Gundam is the furthest advancement of the Earth Federation’s Operation V initiative to create Mobile Suits powerful enough to defeat the Principality of Zeon’s army of Zaku Mobile Suits. The RX-78-2 Gundam Prototype was precisely the answer the Earth Federation was looking for, as it quickly proved itself technologically superior to the mass production MS-06F Zaku II. The RX-78-2’s special Luna Titanium Alloy armor made it almost impervious to incoming ballistic fire without weighing down the Mobile Suit. At the time, the RX-78-2 was one of the most offensively capable Mobile Suits ever built, as its robust powerplant granted the RX-78-2 Gundam access to an array of beam-based weaponry. Before the RX-78-2 Gundam’s creation, beam weapons had only made their way onto the large space battleships of the Earth Federation and Zeon.

Articulation –

The MG RX-78-2 Gundam 2.0 features a complete inner frame loaded with mechanical detail, setting the standard for the next decades of Master Grade releases. The model utilizes double-jointed limbs and swiveling thighs, providing a wide range of motion to create dynamic poses. The MG RX-78-2 Gundam 2.0 also includes a functioning Core Block System, including a fully transformable Core Fighter! Use the included action base adapter to showcase your MG RX-78-2 Gundam 2.0 and the full extent of its posability atop your choice of Action Base.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

The MG RX-78-2 Gundam 2.0 features just about every weapon used by the RX-78-2 throughout Mobile Suit Gundam, outshining all previous renditions. Bandai included the Super Napalm, an under-barrel attachment for the Mobile Suits Beam Rifle. Bandai also bundled in the Beam Javelin, the extended version of the Beam Saber that projects three shortened beam blades. This model also includes the mighty Gundam Hammer, a gigantic spiked flail capable of crippling enemy Mobile Suits with a single successful strike.
