MG YMS-15 Gyan

$44.99

The YMS-15 Gyan is a prototype Mobile Suit created by Zimmad Company as a potential mass production unit for the Principality of Zeon’s next-generation MS program. Zimmad Company designed the YMS-15 Gyan with a heavy focus on close-quarters combat, omitting any ranged weapons aside from an array of missiles stored inside the Mobile Suit’s Shield. The YMS-15 Gyan would, in theory, sortie alongside a team of the currently-in-production MS-09 Dom, who could provide sufficient supporting fire while the Gyan could move in and strike the target. The Gyan’s prowess at close range would eventually be the Mobile Suit’s downfall, as it was unfit for combat outside its specific role, leading to its replacement with the more versatile MS-14 Gelgoog.

Included alongside the MG Gyan for accessories:

  • Beam Saber
  • Missile Shield
  • Missile Effect
  • Hand Mine x3
  • 1/20 M’Quve Figure
  • 1/100 M’Quve Figure
  • LED Beam Saber Hilt

Articulation –

The MG Gyan features a complete internal construction with a functioning cockpit in its torso that reveals the 1/100 M’Quve Figure seated within! The model also features double-jointed limbs and swiveling thighs, providing a wide range of motion to create dynamic poses. Builders can adjust the position of the monoeye by removing the top section of the MG Gyan’s head, further increasing the model’s customization potential. This model also includes a unique LED Beam Saber Hilt for builders to use instead of the standard hilt, featuring an external on/off switch and only requiring a CR1220 Battery (sold separately).

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

Builders can store the standard Beam Saber hilt inside the MG Gyan’s Shield when not in use. The Shield features an array of missiles on the face of the Shield and a total of sixty pin missiles. Bandai provided a super-cool missile effect part, allowing builders to pose the model as it launches a payload of pin missiles. The Shield features an articulated assembly to connect to the MG Gyan’s forearm, allowing builders to pose the Shield facing forward or parallel with the arm.

Tips & Tricks

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the YMS-15 Gyan with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. Making your own panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
