Perfect Cell Dragon Ball Z Figure-Rise Standard

$35.99

Channel your inner Dr. Gero with this model kit and create your very one Perfect Cell. Perfect Cell is the final form of one of the most iconic villains in the Dragon Ball franchise, Cell. Perfect Cell is a Bio-Android engineered using stolen DNA from some of the Universe’s strongest fighters, including GokuVegetaPiccoloFrieza, King Cold, and more, depending on the source material. Cell achieves his Perfect Form by absorbing Dr. Gero’s Androids, namely Android #17 and Android #18. In his Perfect Form, Cell achieves a terrifying Power Level exceeding 900,000,000, easily outmatching Goku during the Cell Games Saga. With this Figure-Rise rendition of Perfect Cell, builders can bio-engineer this terrifying creature for themselves!

Included alongside Perfect Cell for accessories:

  • Kamehameha Effect (Charging)
  • Kamehameha Effect
  • Display Stand for Kamehameha Effect
  • Alternate Face Expression

Articulation –

Bandai faithfully recreated Perfect Cell’s distinctive speckled pattern with a clever layering technique, achieving a finished look right out of the box. This parts separation compliments Bandai’s “Muscle Build-Up System,” which turns Perfect Cell’s muscular detail into individual parts, almost eliminating the model’s seam lines! Perfect Cell also enjoys a full range of motion, capable of recreating your favorite moves and attacks from the Cell Games. Perfect Cell features double jointed knees and elbows, providing the model with a dynamic look in any pose!

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

Builders can recreate the famous Kamehameha attack thanks to the included effect parts! Bandai provides an effect part for posing Perfect Cell as he charges up this powerful attack. This piece fits right into the included expressive hands, sliding between his fingers for additional support. The second effect part recreates the powerful blast of the Kamehameha and looks much better than the original 2016 version. There is a transparent stand included to display the effect. The effect does not attach directly to Perfect Cell, so the display stand is required to pose your Perfect Cell with the Kamehameha Effect.

This kit includes:

8 Runners total (A1, A2, B, C, D, E, DEF1, DBA2)
Total Piece Count – 150 Pieces
Foil Stickers
Materials – PS, ABS

Additional Fun information

Trivia: Cell was born from numerous clashes between Akira Toriyama, the series’s mangaka, and the editors of the Dragon Ball Franchise. Toriyama introduced Cell to the Android Saga at the suggestion of one of his editors, Kazuhiko Torishima, who felt the later Androids were uninteresting. Cell’s original appearance, now referred to as Imperfect Cell, has a striking, insectoid shape to the dismay of Yū Kondō, another member of the Dragon Ball editing team. Yū Kondō’s complaints about Cell eventually led Toriyama to give Cell the ability to change forms, thus creating Semi-Perfect Cell. Yū Kondō felt that this time, Semi-Perfect Cell was too goofy (which, after living through the “Shoop da Whoop” meme that spawned from Semi-Perfect Cell, feels justified) and suggested introducing his Perfect Form much earlier. Toriyama would again follow the advice of his editors, creating the story we’ve come to know and cherish. It’s interesting to think that if Toriyama was much more stubborn about his vision for Dragon Ball Z, he may have never created Perfect Cell, which would have been a total shame.

Description

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

To give your Perfect Cell a more finished look, you’ll want to experiment with some different techniques than you’d use when building Gunpla or other mechanical models.

To create more realistic flesh tones, we recommend using Tamiya Accent Color Pink Brown to do the trick. You can apply this product like standard panel lining fluid, letting it seep into gaps separating the muscular detail. Its rich, reddish color will provide a satisfying shaded look to the model’s skin in no time at all! For model figures with a darker skin tone or a fictional coloration, you may need to experiment with the rest of Tamiya’s liner fluids to find one that’ll bring out the details without looking too stark. To bring out the superb detailing of the model’s clothing and other accessories, utilize your preferred lining techniques and make the model truly your own!

Not satisfied with the glossy texture provided by the model’s bare plastic? Try using one of the many Flat Topcoats available here at Gundam Pros. Applying a layer of flat topcoat to your model figure as the final step towards completion will help protect any painting, decals, and weathering you’ve added to the kit after assembly. It is vital to be mindful of how much topcoat you are using, as too much (primarily flat topcoat) will create a “frosted” effect on the application site. Not only will the model look better, but it will also feel better in the hands. Products like Mr. Super Smooth Clear Spray will give your model an excellent texture, erasing the cheap, plasticky feel of your standard snap-build kit. Of course, use your best judgment to determine if your entire model should be flat, as there may be armor components or accessories that look better with a glossy topcoat instead.
