RG #20 XXXG-01W Wing Gundam EW

The XXXG-01W Wing Gundam EW is a masterful redesign of Kunio Okawara’s original Wing Gundam design created by Hajime Katoki! This design comes from the Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Endless Waltz: Glory of Losers manga series, which retells the main plot of the original anime with all new Katoki designs for most of the Mobile Suits. The XXXG-01W Wing Gundam is one of the five G-Team Gundams constructed for use during Operation Meteor. The XXXG-01W Wing Gundam excels in maneuverability thanks to the pair of wings fixed to the Mobile Suit’s backpack. Both wings split into smaller sub-wings to help adjust the Mobile Suit’s speed. This equipment allowed the XXXG-01W Wing Gundam to fly around the in-atmosphere while in Mobile Suit Mode.

Articulation –

The RG Wing Gundam EW is one of many early Real Grade models utilizing pre-molded inner frame pieces in its assembly. These parts combine hard and soft plastics to create large movable joint sections, to which builders apply additional frame pieces and armor over the pre-molded parts. The RG Wing Gundam EW uses twice as many pieces as its High Grade counterpart, providing much greater color accuracy on the 1/144th scale. The Wing Gundam EW uses the same MS Joint parts as the RG #17 Wing Gundam Zero EW, providing an excellent range of motion for dynamic and expressive posing. Unlike Wing Zero, the RG Wing Gundam EW can transform into Bird Mode for improved atmospheric flight. This transformation does not require any additional pieces, only utilizing built-in articulation and relocated parts to create a convincing Bird Mode.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

Each armament features updated designs loaded with surface detail without straying from the silhouette of the source material. These weapons feature the same excellent color separation as the Wing Gundam EW, providing some of the best-looking 1/144 scale weapons Bandai has ever made! The Wing Gundam EW’s Buster Rifle features removable energy cartridges for builders to swap out and replace with the additional cartridges from the Energy Cartridge Pods. The Energy Cartridge Pods can attach to both forearms, even while the shield is already attached!
