HG Seed #21 ZGMF-X56S/β Sword Impulse Gundam

The Sword Impulse Gundam is one of the configurations of the ZGMF-X56S Impulse Gundam designed for close-quarters combat. Like its Earth Alliance predecessor, the Strike Gundam, The Sword Impulse Gundam can change forms during the heat of battle. The Sword Impulse Gundam utilizes the β Sword Silhouette Pack, which adds two Anti-Ship Laser Swords and a pair of Beam Boomerangs to the already impressive Impulse Gundam. This High Grade rendition of the Sword Impulse Gundam comes from way back in 2005, so be sure to check this one out and see how far Bandai has come since then!

Articulation –

These old-school High Grade Seed model kits provide a fun and straightforward build that any level of Gunpla Builder can appreciate. The Sword Impulse Gundam uses an array of polycaps to create a solid model kit while retaining the full articulation Gundam fans have come to expect. Bandai even included the Core Splendor Gimmick, which separates the Gundam into a Top and Bottom Flyer for easy transportation. To perform this transformation, remove the folded Core Splendor from the Sword Impulse Gundam’s waist, then follow the instructions to achieve the proper poses for the Top and Bottom Flyers. This model also includes a non-transformable Core Splendor for displaying alongside the Sword Impulse Gundam.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

The Excalibur Anti-Ship Laser Swords are gigantic physical weapons capable of slicing through enemy battleships. Thanks to the added Beam Blades, the Excalibur can even cut through Phase-Shift Armored Mobile Suits! For some added leverage, fuse the Laser Swords at the base! Attached to the backpack is a pair of Beam Boomerangs, similar to the set used by the ZGMF-X09A Justice Gundam. Bandai included two Beam Effects to recreate the deployed Beam Boomerang. The Sword Impulse Gundam includes the Impulse Gundam’s standard Beam Rifle, which clips onto the back skirt when not in use.
